Vinted Unlocks Royal Mail Lockers for Buyers in UK First

Date: 4 August 2025

Vinted has just taken a major step forward in marketplace delivery convenience. In a UK-first, the second-hand fashion platform has extended its partnership with Royal Mail, becoming the first brand to offer customers the ability to collect purchases from Royal Mail's locker network.

Until now, Vinted users could drop off items via lockers and parcel shops. But with this latest update, buyers can now choose to collect their pre-loved finds from over 2,000 Royal Mail lockers and nearly 8,000 Collect+ Parcelshops across the UK — an attractive option for anyone who doesn’t want parcels delivered to their front door.

New Delivery Choice for a Growing Market

The new feature adds another layer of convenience for the millions of Vinted users across the UK. While Royal Mail’s traditional home delivery option remains, this added flexibility caters to changing shopper habits, especially as more consumers prioritise convenience, privacy, and sustainability.

With Royal Mail’s network rapidly expanding — including 500 new lockers installed at petrol stations in partnership with Motor Fuel Group — Vinted users now have access to more than 22,000 collection points in total. This includes:

  • 2,000+ Royal Mail parcel lockers
  • 8,000 Collect+ Parcelshops
  • 11,500 Post Office branches
  • 1,200 Royal Mail Customer Service Points

More Flexibility, Less Friction

Vytautas Atkoičaitis, Vice President of Vinted Go, highlighted the move as a major win for Vinted’s community:

“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Royal Mail and give Vinted members full access to their UK-wide parcel pick-up and drop-off network. The Local Collect service supports our commitment to cost-efficient, convenient, and more sustainable shipping.”

That sentiment was echoed by Alistair Cochrane, Interim CEO of Royal Mail:

“We’re ramping up to deliver tens of millions of pre-loved items across the UK, and this partnership takes our convenience offering to the next level.”

Royal Mail’s Out-of-Home Evolution

This locker access isn’t the only innovation in Royal Mail’s pipeline. In April, the company launched a trial allowing customers to send larger parcels through postboxes — powered by solar tech, no less. It also introduced app-based proof of posting, a feature expected to be extended to Vinted customers in the coming months.

As Royal Mail continues building out a flexible, tech-forward delivery ecosystem, marketplaces like Vinted are poised to take advantage — offering a smoother, more customer-centric post-purchase experience.

What This Means for Sellers and Buyers

For Vinted sellers, this opens the door to faster dispatch and fewer failed deliveries. For buyers, it’s about control: choosing when and where to pick up parcels without needing to wait at home.

This collaboration also underscores the importance of integrated shipping solutions in the fast-growing resale and recommerce sector. As more buyers opt for circular shopping habits, marketplaces must continue evolving how goods get from A to B — and this is a strong step in the right direction.

With Royal Mail and Vinted leading the way, the future of second-hand delivery in the UK looks more local, more flexible, and a whole lot smarter.
